Default Heated Rear Seats Not Working?

We spec'd the rear heated seats on my wife's '22 Macan S. However, they don't seem to work. I did an experiment where I cranked one of them up to the highest setting (three), and left the other one off. I also turned on the driver's seat heater all the way, then went for an hour drive. When I got back, I checked the temps with an infrared thermometer. The two rear seats were identical: about 65-68F depending on exactly where I tested. The driver's seat was 90F. I checked the manual, there's no way to enable/disable them. Fuses are all good. It's going in for a 10k service next week anyway, but was just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I haven’t tried our heated seats yet, but assume that the heating might just work if the seat is occupied - there should be a sensor in them.
Or am I giving Porsche to much engeneering credits, here?

Is your rear window lock switched on? Look on your driver's door button panel. Locking out the rear windows also locks out the rear seat warmer controls and rear seat area climate control.

Have your wife drive you around while you sit in the back. I agree the seat belt occupancy sensors are likely tied to the seat heaters.

Couldn't you just sit in the backseat with the seat heaters on while parked if you wanted to test them out?

I sat in the back and tested again. Seatbelt on of course. It was only a 10 minute or so ride, but I measured zero change in temp except for the very front of the seat bolsters where the HVAC vents were blowing on them.

Tried this last night. No sign of heat.

Good idea, but unfortunately the lock is off.

In my car there is a button that takes the driver's input over the individual. Be sure to turn this off.

Ok sounds like your rear seat heaters don't work. Proceed to dealership. :-)

I haven't personally tested the ones in our 22 GTS but my kids say they work. My 18 year old son even commented they are super hot and he had to turn them down after a few minutes.

Honestly my wife or I would not even have noticed but our ten-year-old complained they weren’t doing anything while sitting in them after a cold and wet soccer game. He’s got it rough.

Brought the car in for the 10k yesterday. Turns out they forgot to connect the wiring harness for the heated seats at the factory. Easy fix, but between this and the brake duct they missed on my GT4, mildly concerning.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix. Such oversights seem to not be uncommon with all manufacturers with cars built during the supply chain shortage. Nearly every mass produced car manufacturer is going through quality issues right now, some worse than others.

Is there a separate fuse for the rear seat heaters?
