Remember that it is 10,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

I forgot about my service, barely used the car over last 22 months. Now dealer (who is always full of ****) is saying that i have to pay because i was too old. Does anyone have insight whether it really works that way?

Didn't you get the popup messages? Mine start about 6 weeks before it's due and it's pretty hard to miss them.

I would say that since the car hasn't been serviced in almost two years, the dealer is probably in the right. You can talk to the GM, or ask another dealer if they would honor it. It's a basic service anyway, not a lot of money.

Ten months late would probably be a cause to deny the free service. You could probably take it up with Porsche NA as they're the ones paying for it, not the dealer. In any case, the first service is basically an oil/filter replacement with a few "inspection" items. An independent shop could probably do the service for a few hundred dollars. If you go this route, be sure to get an itemized invoice to maintain your warranty.
