Default Automatic mirror folding

I love the automatic mirror folding feature on the Macan. The mirrors automatically fold in when I lock the car via a door, but not when I lock the car via the trunk button. In the latter case, the trunk lid closes, doors lock, but the mirrors don't fold in. Is this the expected behavior? Seems to me like the mirrors should fold in in this case as well.

Yeah, pressing the lock button on the lid will not fold the mirrors. Unfortunate and Porshe oversight in my opinion.

Same here. I touch the door as I walk by to fold the mirrors.

The other thing you can do is lock the door first, then open the lid. When you press lock on the lid, car mirrors will already be folded in.

Is this an option that must be selected? My mirrors do not auto fold when I lock the door.

There is an option for this in "Vehicle -> Settings -> Locking" which you can access by pressing the right rotary push button on the steering wheel.

The trunk lock button not folding the mirrors seems like a bug in Porsche software. After the trunk lid is closed, the same locking sequence should be initiated that folds the mirrors.

On my 2018 I have to hold the door lock button to get the mirrors to fold

There is clearly a bug in the Macan software and not sure how one gets this escalated beyond the dealership. You will find this to be inconsistent. I just had mine in for service and had reported this. They claim it likely never folds in an tested on 2022 ones coming off the truck and it did not as well. Being certain I did not imagine this inconsistency I test on my loaner Macan and sure enough first time folded in. Then 3 times right afterward nope, had to pull security camera footage to show the dealer not crazy. Dealer didn't really care since the car didn't have any fault code. If you have a Macan and under warranty report this to the dealer!! Likely only multiple reports will have them look into this and fix the issue.

On my 2018 I have to hold the key lock or door handle lock button to get the mirrors to fold. Not sure it is a software bug, just that the rear hatch button is not designed to work like the key or the door handle to fold the mirrors.
