2021 vs. 2022 Macan GTS
Is it me or the 2022’s look cheaper? The glass control board plus the equally cheaper looking gear selector. My 2021 has the proper leather trim around the gear selector. Don’t get me started about the exterior black plastic madness going on.
CPO 2021‘s have pretty impressive asking prices.
Thoughts?

I'm OK with the looks, just want the REAL buttons, not a touch surface. I don't need to look down to press and release the "SPORT" button on the console in my 2017 S and like the time and safety my muscle memory reaction gives me. Plus I have a friend with Panamera so I was already familiar with the layout.

I am SO glad I was able to get a '21 GTS! I dislike the electric razor grill, tarted up blades + rear diffuser, and hate the shiny touch panel. The only detail I like is the larger cubby behind said panel and perhaps the Turbo power, but I am a happy camper. Plus, I like the wheels I got better than those now on offer. I went bonkers with checking boxes on the order though I plan to drive this until ICE cars make less sense than electric.

I have a '17 and now a '22 en-route. I did wince at the front grill when I saw a friend's S, and the replacement of buttons with fingerprint magnets which I have to look at to operate reliably. But my first one has been great so I went *****-out on options for the new one, maybe I've optioned out some of the concerns raised (e.g. CF shifter w/leather ****) but will certainly compare. The extra power will be good, I won't be the main driver but that part will be very welcome.

I'm usually the old dog that can't be taught new tricks but I personally prefer the '22s over the previous gen. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that this is my first Macan. I remember when the 992 was released, there were several "haters" including myself but I eventually warmed up to it; I still can't get over the tiny gear selector though. Same thing can be said of other makes and models. IMHO, there are more pros than cons when it comes to latest generation vehicles. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has an a-hole and an opinion, and that's okay. I'm just looking forward to my GTS when it arrives next month.

I have a 2022 and recently got a 2021 loaner when I had my 911 for service.
I see what you guys are saying, but to me it is very minor . I am used to no bottoms from the 992 . My guess you guys will get used to no bottoms .

Well I'm old and divorced with kids, so I'm not seeing many bottoms at this point in my life.

Originally, I preferred the 21 front end to the 22 and still might... I think since ordering and receiving my 22 GTS, I have watched SO many videos that now when I see a 21, it doesn't look "new". Not that it's a bad thing, just something I notice. As far as buttons, I would probably prefer buttons, but I am already over that. I had to have the 22 for the turbo power and GTS handling.

Personally I like the shifter better in the 2022. The haptic button center looks much cleaner and less outdated to me too. But different strokes for different folks.
We originally had an order in for a 2021 which was cancelled by Porsche due to lack of parts. One upside is getting the updated 2022 interior, to me. One downside is I don't like the front end facia as much on the 2022.

I have a 22 GTS and agree that the plastic panel for the haptic buttons has a cheap GM like look, especially when off and not lit up. I prefere the buttons, but the 22 came with so many other upgrades and at MSRP was the better car for me to buy. I had an allocation for a 21, but was not happy with the colors offered since they canceled the mamba green. As soon as 22 launched with the upgrades, especially the brake upgrade and availability of the color papaya metallic, I jumped on that allocation. Even got 4% discount. Personally I like the aggressive appearance of the front end on the new design. So I agree about the buttons, but I am happy I switched to 22.

B. you set things up the way you like it and seldom go the the buttons there (as is the case for me).
I am curious though if people get annoying sun reflections off the prominent shiny surface.

It is a downgrade, when driving, to have to divert attention from the road ahead to aim your finger for a spot on the display. Much prefer a button.
