Howdy-

I’m looking at speccing these on a 22 Chalk GTS. Haven’t been able to find any of the 22’s in the wild with them on a lighter color like Chalk. Anyone have a strong opinion on this wheel finish? It looks pretty dark on the builder but curious how it would look in reality.

Tinted wheels in a gray or satin will hide brake dust better than a shiny wheel. Mine's an '18 Turbo. At first I really wanted the 21" 5 spoke black ones. But having a set of something similar from Hamman wheels for a 2006 M3, I found the gloss black paint scratched too easily. So, I've decided to stick with the gray RS Spyders.

 

This is what I got (22 Chalk GTS) so I hope it looks sweet!! GLWB

 

I think those wheels will look good with Chalk. I think they are dark enough. I have heard there are manufacturing delays with this wheel though so I would check on that.

Thanks Mr. Wolfe. You have any pictures of the combination in the wild? I’ve seen some of the wheels on other colors but not on chalk or white. Thanks!

 

Same boat. Just ordered the same color and wheel combo on a Macan S.

my preference would be satin black but that’s not a factory option for this wheel. I prefer the satin platinum to the gloss black for reasons mentioned above and because I go a long time between washes and those glossy black wheels will look dirtier faster.

Now…question for the forum: if there are factory delays with this wheel, one strategy would be to get the car with the standard wheel and order something oem in satin black:

option 1: 2022 Macan GTS standard wheel (21”)
option 2: 2021 Macan GTS standard wheel (20”)

Anyone have a lead on option 1? option 2 is abundantly available.

Satin Platinum goes perfectly with chalk, IMO.

 

Sorry, I have not seen a Chalk Macan with Satin Platinum GT's. I just received my 22 GTS and ordered it with the satin black Spyders. It looks good, but I will use these as my winter wheels/tires and buy something else for my summers.

To me on a vehicle with no chrome trim on it anywhere having silver/chrome on the wheels looks out of place. I would want some chrome/silver/platinum trim on it to blend with the wheels if I were going that route. Otherwise go all black wheels as shown above.

On my 2022 GTS build I did all satin black below the beltline and all gloss black above the beltline (b/c you don't have a choice above the beltline).

 

I have Satin Platinum on my Chalk ‘21 Turbo. Couldn’t be happier. They look great!

 

Pretty much a clone to my GTS and I am very pleased with this combo. Given this is not an option now I might go for the Sport Design Visuvious Grey wheel though these are darker and perhaps too dark and contrasting for what I was going for..
