2018 Macan GTS CarPlay issue

I have a 2018 Macan GTS with the communication module so I can use the button end on the stock for voice command. I have an iPhone 11 and plug it into the port in the center console. CarPlay usually comes up right away and then goes away. I have to unplug and then plug in the phone several times to get it to stay on the main screen. Also there are times when I am using the phone via CarPlay and it just cycles off and restarts. Is there a software upgrade for the 18 to be more compatible with CarPlay or some other fix for this issue?

I started having Car Play issues when I upgraded my iPhone 12 Pro to iOS 15. Just saw an article a few days ago about Car Play issues and them being fixed with iOS 15.2, which is now available. I upgraded the phone to that and the Car Play issues went away.

Running 15.3. Only way I get it to work is to keep plugging and unplugging the phone until it stays on. Have changed out the cord for a new one too and didn’t help.

Not to state the obvious.... The intermittent nature of this sure suggests either a damaged cord and/or a damaged connector. The connector failure could be on the cord, in the car or on the phone. Can be very frustrating to track down. If you've already replaced the cord I'd suggest trying to duplicate the problem by wiggling the connection in the center console. If that seems rock solid, to the same thing with the connector on the phone. May also want to try your phone and cable on another Porsche at the dealer. Could point you in the direction of your radio... Good luck!

Thanks..cord is new , connection at car is solid...phone questionable. I have a 2017 Cayenne turbo s using the same set up without a hitch. That said the iPhone connection seems a bit weak.

I really don't get it. I have a 2017 Cayenne Turbo S and the car play works perfectly. The 2018 Macan GTS you would think has better tech but it is a nightmare on CarPlay . I have to plug and un plug it multiple times to get it to stay connected and even then it will randomly shut off in the middle of using it. Dealer tells me there are no upgrades for it.
