Agreed those are aweful numbers. I don't hear any complaints about the additional gas money wasted from the increase. 10K miles a year at 20 mpg X $2/gal increase = $1,000
I love researching. And I love choosing where to spend my money.
Toronto oil change at the dealer seems to be $56o, my Indy does it for 225.
Four rotors and pads at the dealer was quoted at $26oo. OEM parts were $8oo on my desk, plus 300 to install including a brake flush @120.
Cabin filter was Amazon 30 bucks, plus a tic tac charge for my 11 y/o. (1.29 + 3 min work)
Putting on the snow tires, is $175 ish, but they do balance them… 30 min there and 30 back home. X2 for pick up.
Me + kid, 30 min in the driveway, plus everything gets scrubbed. Dealer just bags dirty wheels.
everyone should know how to change a tire. It’s a life skill. Sure, you can wait for roadside for 2 hours, or be done in 10 minutes. You have a tee time to make, after all.
3 hour inspection? @200/hr, and 1100 dollars with no parts, but a cabin filter? What is required to keep warrantee is written in the manual. Follow that. There is no mention of wallet flush? I’ve looked.
alright so maybe it is what it is. I do some of my own work on my sports cars and lots and lots of shop work (I have a car in the shop, always, at all times, on rotation lol) but I'm too lazy for daily drivers. I think my indie is going to get the Macan going forward.
I don't mind paying for service when I feel there is legitimate work done. But seriously, any first year tech can change oil and bleed brakes pull codes and go through a checklist of stuff.
Oh well.
I agree. They had my car 5 hours and somehow an oil change and list of BS inspections cost $740 in labor. Please. These dealers apparently just think all their customers are a-holes.
It's unfortunate that PORSCHE CORPORATE forces the dealers to build these "SHRINES" Not that I love the dealerships but their costs are enormous,
What MUST be PORSCHE dealership is done there....OTHERWISE its the indies for me

My Macan is on order so forgive my ignorance but don’t the annual services need to be done by the dealership to retain the warranty?

No you are free to maintain your vehicle in any way that meets the manufacturer’s specifications. Records are necessary if DIY or Indy to avoid dispute with the dealer on warranty claims.
Mine was $975 last August, try to avoid individual Porsche dealer and find a joint dealer (like Audi + Porsche), they are usually cheaper on service,
and get a PCA membership, most if not all Porsche dealers offers 10% off for members, it literally paid for itself.

In the US, no. Not sure about other countries policies.

For year 3 service I started to use my trusted Indie. Done with dealer non-warranty service. The Value/ROI just isn't there for me.
And yeah that $1100 18 mo ago was with the PCA discount.
Do my own work in my stable: 2008 V8 Touareg, 2012 Gehl 5640 turbo diesel skid steer, 2020 Macan S and 2021 992C4S. The $tealer here is 370 miles away, charges $250/hr and I wouldn't trust them with the remote to my TV.
I run 0w-40 Mobil1 A40 on Treg, Gehl and Macan and Liqui Moly C40 5w-40 on the 992. I get my oil filters etc. from RockAuto, cabin filters and oil from FCP Euro. Currently on PIWIS v40.600 and migrating to 41.800
The day I can't work on my cars I call an Uber - next car is a 71 Cuda 383/426/440 MT; yeah I'm 73.

PS Forgot to add, all are driven year round from -40 to 80s; garage queens are not tolerated and car washes are dependent on rain. No PPFs
