Macan EV

It really does look like a squashed Macan. I seriously don't understand the reasoning behind having both cars in the lineup. They should put all of their engineering efforts into one platform IMO.

Once Porsches sees numbers that justify they will drop ICE .. In the meanwhile they are hedging!

EV doesn't cut the mustard. Far too little reality compared to real world needs.

That doesn't fly with the (ridiculous) long term plan to get us out of our freedom machines. After-all there's no charging stations at the trail-head. I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan on driving gas powered vehicles until they catch me.

the #1 factor that will determine whether this sells will be its range. I think the magic number has to be 280-300 miles/charge, and not the 220-230 the current Taycans are at now.
I seriously cross-shopped a Taycan 4 CT vs a macan, installed all the EV apps on my phone and installed 14-50 plugs in my garages. everyone in the EV world said that the Taycan EPA range estimates were way under real world mileage.
However, living in the NE and driving to VT 2x/month in the winters would have me stopping at a Walmart in NH for 30 minutes. I visited the Walmart in NH on a Friday night (which would be when I would need recharge) and the memes are true.
Assuming 20-30% loss of range due to cold, going uphill at a reasonable speed (another negative), the cost of 20k more than a macan GTS, I just couldn't pull the trigger.
TL;DR: range is king. I hope it gets there, but my hopes are not up.

Am I the only one who is (a little?) excited to see what the 2023 Macan EV will offer? Honestly, I am not sure that the technology is far enough along to make ICE obsolete, but I do believe we are heading in that direction, like it or not. I have driven a couple Taycan variants and I have been "wowed" every time I punch the pedal. I know that electric cars are not as "green" as we are led to believe (yet), but I can certainly see how the instantaneous torque and seem-less power delivery can be addicting. I will certainly be considering trading in my Macan S for the EV - although I may wait a model year or 2 to see if a Macan EV Turbo is in the cards.

Doesn't look good to these old eyes, especially the rear. Range will probably be 250 miles at best and a price of 100K plus. No thanks. People rave about the Taycan and for such a huge car, it has very little space inside and is a pain to get in and out of that damn car. Macan EV should be better at least.
