Default Tire recommendations

I bought this car in July with 36,000 miles. My Discount Tire rep says it’s time to replace all four. Right now the tire is a Pirrelli Scorpion. Discount rep recommended the same tire, and estimated I would get 10-15,000 miles. That was a bit surprising to me.

what do you all recommend? Thx. 2017 Macan S

Default Macan tires

I have a 2018 Macan base with 33,000 miles, I bought it in April with 29,000 miles. The tires are Michelin Latitude Tour HP on 20” wheels and there is still many miles left in them. I know the previous owners properly maintained the car, and most of my driving is a mix of light driving and some highway. Not sure why any tire dealer would recommend a tire with 15,000 mile expectation, unless your tracking the car. I think I’d find a new dealer. I’m

A lot depends on how much grip you want, harder (less grippy) tires last longer. I have Pirelli Scorpions on both my wife's Macan S and my Cayenne GTS, they're a good tire. I prefer grip to mileage and they are a Porsche N-spec tire so I'm likely to stay with them. Best bet it to go over to www,tirerack.com and read the notes on each tire that will fit, and decide on price vs reviews and expected mileage.

Yes, you replace all 4. I have the other all season variant from the the factory which are the Michelin Latitudes. I'm going to get about 25K miles out of them. I drive pretty aggressively but I don't track it. My next tire will be the Scorpion Zero All Season Plus based on the strong reviews online and from people I know who are already running them. This is a newer tire than the OEM Scorpion Verdes and Michelin Latitudes that Porsche originally N certified. Tire technology evolves but Porsche does not continually certify newer tires.

I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. I prefer Michelins; that said I do live in FL so all season is not an issue for me anymore.

A little over 3 years and 55k miles on my Michelin Latitude Tour HPs and they aren’t to the wear bars yet but I am ready to replace them. Mostly highway and city driving with some weekly but short gravel/rocks/off roading. Pretty incredible tire. Currently on back order from tire rack.

Per subject line — how do you like them? I’m gonna replace my OEM Michelin 20” Latitudes before driving to NYC next weekend (they have about 28000). My current tires are getting slippery when wet. These were recommended by the human I spoke with at TireRack.

Thanks!
Marc

About a 2000 miles into the Scorpion Zeros and I've been very happy with them. They are grippier than the OEM Latitudes in the dry with no sacrifice in the wet. Pretty quiet too.

Thanks! I just bought a set from TireRack for my Macan GTS, will have them installed on Sunday afternoon locally here in McLean, VA. Will drive up to see family next weekend on new tires. Nice life!
