The one I have a deposit on has the original warranty that ends 12/22 plus it's an additional 2 years as it is CPO. I am aware they have extended the warranties for the transfer case. How did you know if the problem? Since it will be garaged in NYC, won't see leaks on the floor!
Timing chain leak was noticed during my PPI. I purchased my GTS used while still under factory warranty. PPI recognized a slight weep at the bottom of the timing chain cover and although it was not dripping, it would have eventually. Since it was a known issue I included the fix as part of my purchase agreement.
Was this from a Porsche dealer and was it noticed by their own PPI? It was fixed before you took possession? Thanks for the posts and info!
I actually sent your post to the salesman just now!

I purchased mine from a Lotus dealer that took it in on trade. I had an independent PPI done by a local shop and the Lotus dealer worked with the local Porsche dealership for the timing chain cover leak and there was also a active recall on the fuel pump gasket that was done at the same time. My purchase was out of state so an independent PPI was a necessity.

That makes sense now. My dealer called and said there's no leaks and of course they can't do a preemptive repair. Doing some software updates and getting it ready for pick up either later or tomorrow.
With the CPO and the extended warranty, there's only so much worth worrying about!
Have the two main problem areas been addressed(Transfer case replacement and Timing chain cover leaks)? What is the VIN number so we can see how it is equipped by going to https://vinanalytics.com/index.php
This is such an overrated concern, the leak issue is not that common, it’s just very common on the forums.
Besides, the Porsche dealer can now do this without the previous engine-out, labor-intensive method. It can be done in 2.5 hours on a lift. Bolts replaced with a “lock-tite” variant from Porsche on them. - Per Porsche techs. So far, none have ever come back
