2015 Macan Turbo vs 2017 Macan S (or 2016)

Hi Porsche-ites,
I was about to jump into a 2017 Porsche Macan S, and stepped back for a minute after I saw a 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo with similar miles for about an additional 3K. Please note, I am interested in enjoying some performance on my daily driving. I like to feel the connection with the vehicle...when I ask it to do something, I want a good response. You may wonder, well then why not look at a 911 or so. Well, I am also a parent (of 3).
Why I am here? Please can you knowledgeable and experienced Porsche owners give me your opinion on which one is a best buy (has more value). I usually only keep vehicles about 3 years, however I am considering owning this one for longer. Reliability and value are important. Options available are between 40 and 60k miles. I would get extended warranty on it.
So 2015 Turbo or 2016/2017 Macan S?
Please

I'd recommend going for the Turbo. Many S owners have complained of a bit of turbo lag. In my experience,
there's no turbo lag in the Turbo model. The Turbo has considerably more low end torque than the S, so maybe
that masks any potential turbo lag. The GTS model has sold well because it's positioned between the S and the
Turbo models - although some GTS owners have also complained of turbo lag.
I would also recommend you buy only a CPO car. You want to have the 6 year/100K miles protection, although it's
getting kind of late in the cycle for a 2015 model.
Good luck!

Turbo model if you want more 'spunk' in your daily driving, but as someone else mentioned, go with a CPO regardless of which one you end up with.
Bear in mind though that with the 2017 versus the 2015 models, you'll get the updated PCM interface with the ability for Apple CarPlay, etc. if that stuff matters to you. Just something else to factor into your decision, again depending on your priorities.

For a daily, the S feel perfectly adequate. The turbo is undoubtedly faster but this is often negated by traffic in daily commute.
The PCM interface is better in 2017 compared previous years. However, 2019 Models seem to have most of the user frustrations sorted.

No replacement for displacement.
I like all the addition little trinkets in the Turbo.
More leather,bigger brakes, HP.
On either vehicle, watch for services due.
Rotor and pads are tres expensive for the Turbo.
Watch for PDK service done, spark plugs.
All expensive at the dealer, better at an indy. Peace of mind if already performed.
To me, 300 or 400 hp, makes no difference in my stopped traffic dd-ing to work.

Thank you all for your input. All are very valid points. I am still torn though because I would really like to have CarPlay in a 2017 Macan S option I am looking at, but for just a tad bit more I could get a 2016 Turbo in my preferred color with a few cool options that are nice to have but won’t probably be using them as often (extra horse power) in areas with traffic.
It’d be nice if there was an Apple car play dongle available for the 2016 Turbo.
Please can you share your opinions In regards to resale? It seems to be a smarter choice to buy a Turbo is it’s only about 5k more than a one year newer Macan. Considering originally they are about 20k more than a Macan S.
