Macan PDK Failure

Burning Brakes
Starting to look for a CPO Macan S and this is not what I wanted to read. Is it a 2015 issue or has it been seen with later models. Wonder how hard and how much manual shifting and spirited driving was done. Of course a Porsche should be able to hold up to it so you shouldn't have to buy a P car and worry about babying it.

I have contemplated replacing the pdk with a used one, issue is the tranny and module need to be coded by the dealer.
I doubt they will code a used transmission for me?
I have done research and in some cases the mechatonic module fails. Car still dries and reverses, just the odd number gears are not engaging?
Seems like the PDK in the Macan is the Audi DL501 tranny. I have seen these can be repaired?
Any info would help.

A recent post by pv997 walks through the repair possibilities for the 997 PDK. While not directly applicable to Macan, he shows many electrical internals (solenoids for example) are common parts to other ZF transmissions. My guess is this transmission, since it is an adaptation of a VW transmission, has parts available but finding a repair facility to do it might be tough. Used is the best route and then donate the broken tranny to someone that can work out repair procedures.

To be clear, are we talking a clutch or transmission failure? The K in PDK is Klutch and the 40k mile service is replacing the clutch fluid. Your transmission (gearbox) lube change interval is not 40k miles.

Three Wheelin'
I'm sure PDKs have broken in some people's cars. This is not really a surprise given that it's a complex piece of machinery. It doesn't mean everyone needs to start saving for new transmissions when theirs definitely for sure is going to explode.
It's an unfortunate scenario, and one that I and many others are actively tracking. But it's an inherent risk everyone takes if they own an out-of-warranty luxury vehicle.
We do want to find out if there's a trend but comparing to your buddy's 911 multiple times isn't a useful correlation. In fact, forum anecdotes are like yelp reviews in that sense; where is it tracked for what percentage of overall Macan owners are active forum members, and of those how many have transmission problems?
That would be useful data.
