Default Throttle response with hot-v in 2019 Macan

The 2019 Macan S/GTS switched to a slightly higher compression V6 with a hot V turbo.

How do owners of both models feel about the change, specifically, the throttle response? Is the throttle sharper in the 2019 model?

I'm interested in what people have to say because I'm really interested in the Macan S but I was disappointed by the throttle response in the 2018 I drove. EG: I'm cruising in manual mode and sport mode at 30mph with the engine at 3k rpm, I floor it and the car responds tepidly until the turbo spools up. Not as bad as the GLA45, but worse than the GLC43 and far worse than the supercharged F-Paces or the NA SRT JGCs.

I would expect throttle response is more of a programming item than the fact the turbos are in the V. That will only help with turbo lag. Throttle is mapped differently depending on the mode you select - normal, sport, sport plus if all are available.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I believe what I'm complaining about is turbo lag, although DBW software could also be part of it. I don't think the issue was throttle mapping because the poor throttle response happened even at full throttle.

I believe turbo lag is the culprit, which is why I'm curious if the hot-v fixed it. (Note: when I say turbo lag, I mean waiting for the turbo to spool up when moving from no load to load situations. This delay happened regardless of the RPM range.).

I had a 17S and now a 19S. I notice less Turbo lag now especially after car learns your driving habits at around 2000 miles.

Had a 2018 Audi S5 and loved the handling, however could never come to grips with the motor's responsiveness. It sucked and required that I run it in Sport to get any performance at all. Even then there was turbo lag. The 2019 Macan S uses the same motor with what's obviously a different tune as I experience virtually no lag in any setting. Porsche killed it whereas Audi blew it.

Just a minor correction here, there was/is no .2 gen 2019 GTS version. May not see one until mid/late 2020 as a '21 model. Still no official word on the GTS yet.
