Default 2019/2020 Macan Performance Mods

hoping to start a thread of performance upgrades as they become available. just picked up a 2019 macan s. own a gt3. really enjoying the macan - and more than i thought - but want to punch it up a bit.

if possible, would be great if this became a concise list of items as they're released. in particular, interested in...

1. aftermarket sport plus upgrade (this was available on the earlier models as an additional button added to the middle console + software, unsure if they'll have this available on 2019+ as i believe it's a steering wheel control now)
2. exhausts (few folks have called out that the new S exhaust is quiet. while im generally fine with how it sounds; i would be curious what comes out to improve it)
3. cobb and/or other ecu enhancements (pretty sure cobb is going to be the best route. eager to hear about its release).
4. air suspension modifications (believe there are a few options out there to have greater control over ride height).
5. anything else i'm missing?

i'll try to keep this post up to date so that people don't have to scroll too much to find the details - but if you're aware of things that address the above - please have at it.

Default Tracking Upgrade Ideas

Hey There,
I'm new to the rennlist forum and have a 2020 Macan S on order. Would like to follow along as idea / feedback emerge on this. We ordered the air springs but a lot of what I've been reading recently is negative. I liked the ride variability and range of height. Have you had this option before? Did you sign up for extended warranty? What led you to select the air suspension?

Thanks!

Jim

I had the air suspension in my '15 Macan Turbo. I wanted a lower ride height and also liked the ability to lower the tail when getting my elderly dog into the cargo area. It generally worked perfectly, but during a highway trip one of the air bladders blew out. The car was still drivable, but the repair wasn't covered under warranty. The service department claimed that something from the road punctured it. I traded it for my Allroad in '17 but have just ordered a 2020 S. I decided to get the air suspension once again.

I have been quite pleased with the Airmatic Evo adjustable links. A definite less costly install vs. the ecu “modules” from aftermarket that have received somewhat “mixed” reviews

hi jjayhowe;

i've found a few things that may apply to the new gen macan; ill start updating the above post shortly. meanwhile, to your question and in regards to your air suspension - i'm really happy. i had a 2017 base (no air, no pasm) i was driving for about 2 months before the 2019 S arrived. the ride/handling is vastly different/improved. when i put the car in comfort mode in the city it's far smoother than the base was. when i crank down the pasm and lower; the car is far better handling.

i was able to get back in the base for a short drive after i was in the S and confirmed it's a noticeable difference. i'd definitely do it again and despite what i read (some negative comments and a lot of chatter about it not feeling any different).

i've also found some mods for lowering/raising further to get expand the spectrum of both comfort/off-road and sport driving. ill get back to this post later this week with some updates.

if anyone has any other mods they know of, please share.

You know, I tried links before on a 2009 ML63 AMG. It was impossible to get the vehicle from any place between crashed or sitting up really high. Glad it worked for you. I hear someone was able to get their agency to lower their Macan using the PIWIS. Results in a change in ride quality was virtually non-existent.
