Default General buyers question

hello. I don’t spend much time here as I do on the 997 and cayenne forums, but was approached by a friend about advice on a 2018 new Macan. He’s looking for a pretty basic macan in white and he’s looking at some new ones in the 58-62k price range. What do y’all think is a fair percentage off of msrp? I was thinking 7 to 10%. Is that reasonable? Thank you for any insight!

Being a 2018 model, I would think that you can get close to the 10%. I understand that the Dealer gross profit margin to be 13% from Sticker. So, depending on how many Macans the Dealer has left, which models are left, and how their allocation looks for 2019s, you might get 10%.

Just my opinion though.

Even 12% is possible on 2018 Base inventory models. 2019s are going to land in the early spring.

I would say 7-10% would be a good deal. Tell him to start at 12% and maybe end up at 10%. This is a good week to buy a new car with dealer's and manufacturer's trying to finish their year. If he is in a fixed price, I understand that. There is a big difference between the 4 and the 6 cylinder cars, IMHO.

My local dealer would not negotiate at all. I called around and ordered Macan S from a dealer 3 hours away.

I got 14% off in late November on a white Macan in that price range. I do have a very good relationship with the dealership but I would have expected at least 10% off at any dealership considering the large inventory of Macan on every Porsche lot.

Before I decided I want to search for a used GTS, I hit up a couple of dealerships asking about some Sport Edition and Base ones with nice options and offered me 10% back on the email reply back to my inquiry. Didn't have to even negotiate. I'm sure I could have got more if I was going to pull the trigger on the base.
