So my wife goes out of town once a year with the kids for a week and leaves me alone. That is the only time I have access to the Macan. So last year detailed and polished and clayed, and put on a synthetic wax. Maybe in the fall I put on a quick coat of just wax. Well I have to say it held up great. Minimal new scratches. Don't have to clay and polish the entire car this year. I looked into ceramic coatings because of peer pressure but I think synthetic wax is more than enough.

I've become a pretty obsessive detailer as time has gone on. I applied ceramic coating on my new Macan after lots of prep, then caunuba wax on top from then on. Clay is good to do when the paint feels bumpy with a disposable plastic glove, it won't take off paint coating but it will remove some wax.
Time alone with a car, music, Flex polisher..... priceless.
I'd just stick with clay and wax if I were you, lots of effort to strip then polish the clearcoat to do paint coat.
