Default HWFM Racing Decals

Hello Folks

Well, my track days are gone. Haven't been on the track since November '06, and still in recovery mode from my motorcycle accident of March '07, which is the main reason I haven't seen a track.

Cleaning out my garage, I find 2 HWFMR decals, large size that I bought from Tom Weber to put on my trailer. The trailer (and most all of my racing stuff) has been sold.

$35 shipped in US.

Picci? I might buy them. What are the dimensions? TIA, and sorry that you've been suffering. I hope fate changes for you and you get to go back on track SOON. Being that close to Laguna has got to be tough!

They're 9" x 24".

I'm retired from the track. Frankly, it'll be another 6-12 months before I can walk near normally, so it'll have been more than 2 years since my last track event. And at 65 I can't see myself doing all the prep work I used to do, or getting out on the track at 110 deg!!!

Oh Man, Joe, I am really sorry the recovery has taken so long.

Glad to hear you are mending, albeit slowly.

All -

Joe's a great guy who served our country long and well. In doing so, he jumped out of a lot of airplanes, demonstrating a lack of common sense that proved him perfect for the team.

He also made the trip to Le Mans with us in '05, and provided ground support. When one of us was lying on the ground from all the wine, he'd help us up and support us, til we could stand again on our own.

Here's to a speedy final portion of the recovery, Joe.

Sorry to not have met you Joe, but here is to a continued and complete recovery.

I never could figure out why anyone would jump out of an airplane......

My late wife's AF pilot father often said the same. But after you've been pushed out a few times, it becomes "easy." Rope jumping was never much fun, and I did it the minimum to stay qualified. But once I became HALO (military free-fall) qualified, I jumped every chance I could.

It's like us driving on the track making like Schuey. HALO is making like an eagle.

Understood. I did most of my "wondering why" while making jumps.

Have you done the water training? Sounds like fun! Get pulled behind a boat (here, it would be in the Gulf) while sporting full jump gear. Even civilians have to do it if they want to get on a plane for testing. Oh yeah, REAL fun.
