How is it I missed this thread.
Angela you can find a list of guys here that would line up to have that kind of hood ornament on their cars.(Me included)

The singular works. There's an implicit assumption that the endowment is spread more or less equally. As long as no evidence to the contrary is presented, I recommend that you go with that.
