Thanks everyone. It is a birthday that I will not soon forget. On my way back from Daytona today, a Chevron station below DC decided to vend a Cetane/H2O cocktail instead of the usual diesel blend, and so my beloved truck stopped dead about 20 miles south of Baltimore. I had it and the trailer towed to a local Dodge dealer. Looks like the insurance company will have to get involved here.
My wonderful wife immediately jumped into our thankfully not sold yet Denali and drove the 120 miles to rescue me and the trailer, which are finally home about 5 hours later. Yeah, happy birthday indeed.

I have never owned anything diesel, so I honestly don't get this. Can you educate me about the differences in diesel gases? Seriously -- if I ever buy a diesel fuel truck, I need to know what to look out for.
Sorry that your birthday was a headache, Larry. Have Mike fix you a couple of his famous martinis -- the pain won't go away, but you won't care. Maybe something good will come of it -- maybe Chevron will settle out of court to the tune of something-million dollars and you can hire transport and just arrive and drive -- on your private jet, that is.

Happy Birthday Larry
Last year Larry won the Daytona enduro on his B-day, so the present from Chevron is quite a comedown from that.
Still, Larry had a great weekend, with a couple of podiums. I watched a bit of one of his races and he was flyin'. But he's still Larry, so very HWFM.

Here is the Official State Portrait of BT, taken at Daytona. Note the serene, benevolent gaze as he looks down the garage for Larry Herman's cooler, which was nicely stocked and sitting atop an oriental rug. Where else do you see that? TRG? Farnbacher? I think not. He holds in his hand the Official Rennlist Rules, and he leans comfortably on my ratty old tires.
Copies, suitable for framing, are available.
P.S.- Happy Birthday, Larry.

You need to get your camera checked. It appears to put 10 pounds on everyone in the photo, except Glen Sapa.
Mike had a great weekend at Daytona, his first time to the high banks. Ended up in the teens, 12 seconds faster than where he started. Drove good clean races in all three outings. Way to go buddy.
also, never f*ck with a turtle. The guy in an E car who kept dive-bombing Mike into the busstop ended up in the wal at Turn 6 on Sunday. A co-inkydink? I think not.

Nothin' like a little dose of instant karma (not quite as pure as a shart in that respect but very, very respectable).

In the interest of honesty and clarity, while I certainly appreciate the kudos from the large tortoise, the sad fact is that I only improved from stop to slow. With respect to the bus stop, I attempted my own inside pass there on Bob Love during the enduro (but not a dive-bomb), and made a ****-up of it (too much speed, full agro inside, immediate re-pass by Mr. Love), so I shouldn't throw stones, and besides, I'd never wish contact on anyone.
I did have a great time, and I'm very appreciative of all the help and encouragement I got from my fellow racers, both HWFMers and others. That said, I was vewy vewy HWFM.
