For the more capable, there are choices:

1. A career in "do you want fries with that?".

2. A career in "paper or plastic?".

You probably chose the wrong career path if your job requires a name tag on your chest.

Well you see, it would be a monopoly, however since HWFMR is rivaled in speed by the American Justice system you could complain all you want but the 'monopoly,' as you call it, will never be broken.

Furthermore, it's actually exclusive rights. I deal with intellectual property, (not too intellectual when consdering it is HWFMR often), and that is where your argument fails.

This forum is kinda like hanging at the local bar, waiting for newbies to walk in....
Where's that popcorn icon?

His "argument" fails on many levels, but why confuse the confused! Too much time spent in the IP area myself. I am not an IP Attorney, but I did sleep with one, just not last night.

Actually, you're wrong anyway, Jr. An event organizer has the right to have one specific photographer on site -- at least, where pics are for sale. But as long as you don't set up shop or make it real obvious, I suppose you won't get charged the vending fee by the track. Personally, I will only buy from a proven, professional photographer. Good luck with that.

Side note: is it that these young kids (Jr. and cascp) sound so much like GR, or is it that GR acted like a teenager? Never mind, I already know the answer to this rhetorical question.

I do agree, i stop in here from time to time and just watch. Actually a bar would be a great place for this forum, then young in's would be turned away.... that and we could all have some beer....

IP is something that I would consider a miserable place to live in the world of law. The more I hear people talk about it in the photo world the more I find that it's not a fun thing to sort out in many situations.

Agreed. My experience was more in the technology/software areas, but not much different.
