You might want to do a search on HWFM applications to see some examples. Basically, you've got to demonstrate slowness and/or a particular lack of skill/talent in matters preferably related to automobiles. Any sign of competence is highly frowned upon. It helps to be slow in all manners other than picking up the bill when the Big Turtle is around. If you exhibit speed in anything other than wit, forgetaboutit.

An excellent summary, Mike.

However, I'm compelled to make a Point of Clarification.

Speed is appropriate, even encouraged, as long as it is manifested in a HWFM manner.

In fact some of ouir teammates regular podium, and even win races. But they are exceptionally funny, or pick up the tab whenever the Big Turtle is around.

Well, besides a formal application, I am so slow that I got "massacred" on one of my first (and highly viewed) posts on RL

"Timeline from Green to Black"

Do I score any points for that?

True. I was even threatened with sanctions if I had acheived "just one more podium." Fortunately the collective memory is short.

That one might not be the example as it shows initiative and or desire to get fast, fast. You have to want to just go with the flow and after time kinda find yourself in Black. "Well now, when did that happen? That calls for a round!"

I found HWFMR at least 3 years ago and noted that they were my kind of gang of misfits and only now got around to filling out the app. Look what that got me. Emissions...

Good Haiku will earn points every time. But remember the Big Turtle is a master at it.

Ohhhh, we haven't forgotten about your podii Larry. (Nor have we stopped being amazed that you do get them)

In fact we expect you will get one at Road America. Which is why we are rigging your step of the podium with a Whoopee Cushion.

You must be slow enough (my racecar is a Spec Miata with an HONEST engine) that I can pass you on the track.

Passing someone while inverted is also acceptable.
