My point... I like them both, at different times. But, I don't like all of either the blends or the single malts....and can't imagine anyone caring which I like and don't like.

Lol, yes, Bob. I never saw the attraction of women smoking cigars. I'm certainly not sexist, but I always thought cigars were for men.

Same answer. It all depends on what YOU like, not what someone else says you should prefer. I couldn't care less if someone likes a 993 better than a 996, or the other way around. I do know which I prefer though....and it depends on which year and model to continue the analogy. Are you comparing a specific 993 to a specific 996? And for what purpose? At what location. An '04 GT3 is a 996.......

Really?
Booker Noe told me it had to be from Bourbon County to be called Bourbon.

(Booker was a master distiller. One of the Beam small batches is named after him.)

Its named after Bourbon county...but is not required to come from there. It can be made anywhere in the US as long as it is done according to 27 CFR 5.22.

I lost a bet on this three years ago...

Cardhu is my favorite, moderately priced Scotch. Seems to appeal to almost everyone who enjoys Scotch whether they prefer peaty or not. As for Bourbon (which I prefer over Scotch), I go with Blanton's.

Carhu is one I like also. Not much of a Bourbon drinker here, and I don't think I've had a taste in 20 years.

You guys should try one of the good single barrel Bourbons. They have almost nothing in common with the blended stuff.

My ex swore by Wild Turkey. Blek! I learned right there and then that I am NOT a bourbon drinker.

McDonald's equals fine dining like Wild Turkey equals fine Bourbon.

I know...my lame attempt to reinforce your point...which is true...at the end of the day...if you like it...who the heck cares.

The only recommendation I would make to someone who wants to try scotch for the first time is try something blended...they may perceive it as not assaulting their senses as some single malts do
