They still have hope....since we have confirmed that GhettoChicken lives in his parents basement, they could nail the door shut and turn on the gas....or, if they really hate him as much as i suspect, they could just simply nail the door shut and then listen to "The Sounds of GhettoChicken"...I hope they record them!

Like you, I race to the bathroom in the morning.

My first time at Watkins Glen, I literally had to learn the track during qualifying. Qualifiedvery poorly, well back in the pack. total field was 74 cars. Weather was incredibly bad: 96 degrees with matching humidity. Weather surprised everyone, as we could not find a cool suit set up to put in the car, so we ran without one. I had a decent start. The plan was to pull me in at the half way mark (one hour), hopefully concurrent with yellows, and put my co driver in. He would be getting out of a car in a higher class (which was ambitious, given the heat).

I had a decent start, and just began working my way up, as I gained more & more confidence with the track. DAMN it was hot. I was not running particlarly quick laps, since my car did not have superb straightaway speed, but it handled well & braked well, so I was able to really momentum-pass people in key corners & then have just enough gap on the straights ot hold them off.

There were some early yellows, but come the 60 minute mark, there were none. I was HOT and wiped out. After another 15 minutes, a yellow happened. I had worked my way up to 8th, which surprised me when they told me this on the radio.

Co-driver got out of his other car, but was exhausted (what a surprise), so the team told me that I needed to stay out another 5-10 minutes, while he cooled off & hydrated. Crap, I was already getting woozy, I could feel the heat prostration coming on. I began making mistakes, and ended up getting repassed by a guy I had passed several laps earlier. I decided to back off a bit, and hold my position, rather than try to regain 8th and possibly pass out or have a wreck.

Another yellow happened, I came in, crawled out of the car, and my co driver got in. I was so drained, the team called the track medical, and they gave me an quick IV drip to rehydrate.

The heartbreaking part: co driver drove well, but after 5 laps, the car he was about to pass put 2 wheels off, kicked up some debris, and some of it penetrated the radiator. Freak thing, but he began losing coolant & overheating, so he shut it down & pulled off in the Esses. Our day was done. We ended up classified 19 laps down, but did not finish last!

Trial by fire, literally, at Watkins Glen.
