r14 on the dyno
Current mood: hungry

after slacking for the past 2 months, we finally dynoed the R14 last night. Jeff Evans was tuning. Within 1 hour, the car was idling up perfectly, and made 752whp at ~24 psi. illpost the dyno when i get motivated

The setup is as follows:

100% stock R33 GTR bottom end w/ 58k km, from a car fire GTR (i even reused the old rings)
ARP Rod bolts (rods resized)
ARP Head Studs (tq to 86 )
new Rod Bearings (ACL race)
stock coilpacks, stock ignition, stock cas
RC 1000cc injectors
Full-Race modified hypertune plenum to keep ITBs (only possible with LHD)
Full-Race non-AC GT42R turbo kit
Full-Race LHD 4" downpipe
(2) Tial 44mm wastegates
Full-Race 4.5" intercooler
3" ultra short charge pipes
AEM EMS
HKS 264 cams 8.9mm lift, cam gears set to +4 -2
stock valve springs, retainers, lifters, valves
Cometic head gasket
JUN Oil pump
full-race oil restrictor
full-race external oil drain
full-race oil pan sump
Competition Clutch twindisc
Quaife front LSD (stock rear lsd)
VP C16
NGK BKR8EIX plugs gapped to 0.025 then 0.018 once we tried to ignite past 750

the front driveshaft was removed to eliminate doing any possible damage to the clutchpacks. With my manual control i can take all pressure off, but as eric says "its only 4 bolts"

dynotuning went well initially making 505whp at ~12 psi, then 585 whp at ~15 psi. The setup was doing well until 750whp where the fuel pressure started to drop, and spark started to get blown out. We gapped from 0.025 to 0.018 but it still wasnt enough, and we got scared once we saw fuel press start to fall. I am fixing the fuel system with dual bosch pumps, and going to upgrade the spark with an aftermarket ignition amp.
