All those stickers and a street belt? Where are the racing harnesses?

Four points? Yeah, I see now why you went with the OEM belt instead. I won't wear a harness without a sub belt.

Well, isn't he the one in the yellow car? I don't even know what "Super Street" is -- some kind of race or autocross or what? I'm going back to watching the NCAA games. At least there I know what they are talking about. Go Gators!!!

There's no such thing as a FIA spec 4-point harness. And why wouldn't you use them? They should hold you in place and allow you to go faster...then again, you're so fast, I'm sure you didn't wear them to give everyone else a fighting chance!!

Ha, amazingly enough, after some research it seems that the FIA does have a 2nd standard besides the normal 8853/98 that specifies 5 or 6 point belts called the 8854/98 standard for 4 point belts. Fortunately, 4-point belts, even if they meet the 8854/98 standard must also have a 5th or 6th point to be legal for racing in every series that I know of in the United States.

Anyone know any form of racing where 4-point belts are actually acceptable?

I have a 6-point Willans harness. The FIA tag is on one of the shoulder straps if memory serves. This does NOT mean that the harness is legal for road course racing with only four points. The requirement currently stands, at least for road racing, at six points, with a high recommendation (in the GCRs) for seven points. If you were running a street belt or a 4-point harness, you were clearly NOT road racing.

BTW, I can get a full brand-new Willans (used in NASCAR, IRL, etc) six-point harness for under $500. Sounds like you got ripped. NEVER run the shoulder and lap belts without the sub belts on a racetrack. Well, unless you don't care about your stomach, etc. I know my rules, and I defintely know about safety. DON'T do it on the track. Autocross? That's a totally different story.

Talk about great marketing. Lot of JDM ricers/posers love the Takata harness to death... for $400 you can buy VERY good belts from Europe.
