Default "Rennfax" on a GT4

Hi all,

This is my first post on the GT4 forum. I've been a regular contributor on the 993 forum for 6+ years. It's nice to meet you all!

I'm wondering if you folks can help me track down some history on a GT4:

VIN: WP0AC2A88GK197347
Delivered in Sept, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana
13K Miles
2 Owners (changed hands in July, 2016)
VIN decoder report
Experian report

Car was listed at "Texas Direct Auto" - a high volume dealer where you would not expect to see a GT4. I bought it sight unseen as they have a seven day "full refund" policy. It's on its way to me now; I'll bring it to somebody who can inspect it properly.

I'm worried there may be a story on this car and that's why it wound up with a high volume dealer. But even a blind squirrel catches a nut now and again. I'm hoping somebody here knows more than I do about the car and can provide some info.

Thanks in advance for any help

Well I can't add anything of value to the story for you - but Dark blue metallic is a great color and the rarest of the offered colors - only 39 in the GT4 Database put together by GMarki! Looks like your car is ID #454 in the database. You can claim it to the host and it will be highlighted as a Rennlist member car.

If you go to link below and then go to link on google docs you will find a lot of information on how the car came and the summary shows the numbers by color etc.

Hope it all checks out for you! Looks like your 993 pictured is Midnight blue as well!

I think the car will be fine. Just have it put on a lift and meter the whole car if you're worried.

Car had an MSRP of 100k, no buckets, 13k miles so 92k I think isn't a bad price, they probably picked it up for mid-high 80s on a dealer trade or auction.

Thanks, guys. Nice to see this side of the forum is welcoming/helpful

On a related note, can anybody recommend a reputable place to have this car inspected in or very close to San Francisco?

You might want to have a dealer check the PCCBs for wear. It is possible to trash them in less than 10000 miles. Depends on how it was driven.

Congrats. You should love it. You may want to send a PM to rennlisters orthojoe or mooty--both are in the Bay Area and should have extensive knowledge of good indy shops for an inspection.

Thanks again, all.

After some logistical nonsense I decided it's easier to hop a plane to Houston to handle this in person.

Sooooo, can anybody recommend a good shop in/around Stafford, TX?

PM me your travel details......also Texas Direct isn't a small dealership. You'll be shocked when you walk on the lot. No surprise to see a GT4 there.......Phil

Eurocar-werks

A little further away, Sphere Motorsport (talk to Mark or Louise) or DriverSource (talk to Steve Ott).

Be aware, in Houston due to a law suite involving a Lambo, (PPI performer became responsible for 30k worth of repair) you may not get a formal/ written PPI but they will perform an inspection and give verbal feedback.

They have a very impressive set-up. I have dealt with them on a few cars and have always been very impressed. They have lots of high-end cars there.

Good to know. When I Google them some scary stuff comes up, but anybody who moves 2,000 cars/month is going to **** off a number of buyers, I guess.

The good news is that they've been accommodating with me so far. They saved me a flight to Houston by agreeing to send the car to European Cars Limited for an inspection. If the report comes back OK, the car will be on my doorstep next week

Car checked out. Completing the paperwork now and should have the car next week.

Looking for some guidance re tires. Dealer will put new Pirellis on it for free (I'm guessing P Zeros and not Trofeos) or Cup 2s for $700. Assuming I'll burn through a set of tires before I see the track, can anybody recommend which tire (or another altogether)? I'm in San Francisco, so would be nice (but not essential) to have something that does OK in the rain - cold temps aren't a concern.

On a separate note, I have an old set of RUF replica wheels, will these fit the GT4 w/ PCCBs?:
Front: 19” x 8.5” ET52
Rear: 19” x 11” ET52
Have 7mm spacers kicking around, as well.
