You were taking me up on that?

I was:

GT3
Geneva
Manual transmission

But if you want to add 4.0 or something larger than 3.8, I'm good with that.

You say no, I say yes, right?

Got a call to come in and place a deposit for the GT3.2 Got to the dealership and was told there will not be a manual option. Only PDK... Keeping the GT4.

Your dealers lack of good knowledge cost him a sale.

I would think that if you have not had a deposit for 2 years or more, you're out of luck anyway.

I plan to keep my current GT4. I have done a few mods from GMG (headers, exhaust, ECU) and I really love it, In many ways, I think it is even better than my 991 GT3.

For me personally, I hope the GT4 RS does come in the next few years and that the add 4.0 (detuned) and a race tuned PDK. I think this be a new type of car experience hopefully for less cash than the new GT3s.

And that's why it won't happen. We ARE talking about Porsche, right?

My 2 biggest complaints with the GT4 are the engine and strut rear suspension.

A new GT4RS may solve the engine issue, but I doubt the platform will switch away from the rear strut design - this would be a game changer, and make the GT4 even more breathing down the neck of the GT3 in the performance dept, so I doubt it will happen.

Under that assumption, I think I can be a lot happier keeping my existing GT4, getting more power out of the engine, and swapping in a rear multi-link suspension. This is likely where I will end up.

This may sound weird but a part of me is hoping the .2 GT3 is PDK only or just the same 3.8. This way I will not trade my GT4. If it has a 4.0 and a Manual I will be forced to trade my GT4. I really do love my GT4 and that is why I am hoping in the back of my mind that there is no temptation- sad truth

For what it's worth, no 'insider information', and at the risk of having egg on my face in 12 months, I say the rumours of a GT4RS are just that - rumours. So buy the GT3. Better still, keep the GT4 that is a seminal car in Porsches history!

same vibe here. On list for gt3.2 as number 1 and have had GT4RS deposit since the first AP interview. Hoping for the 4rs but don't think will be at Geneva this year IMO. If gt3.2 is pdk only I'm staying in my GT4

There really isn't a way to swap in a rear multi-link suspension. Requires significant engineering in terms of mounting new points to the body and probably also solving some packaging issues with the exhaust system, etc. Cheaper to just buy a GT3 honestly.

Not true. I've touched, smelled and tasted a GT4 with multi-link rear suspension. And it's delicious.

On the GT4, the strut suspension looses ~1 degree camber in the rear as the suspension deflects. With the multi-link setup, it gains ~1 degree... for a total of 2 degree gain relative to struts.

Just sayin'...
