New GT Silver GT4 in Norcal
After a 6 month wait, I finally got my GT Silver GT4 a few weeks ago. Been a lifelong car nut and Porsche fan since high school (had 959 posters all over my room). I have previously owned a number of Porsches including a 993C2, 987.1 Cayman S, 997.1 GT3, 997.2S, plus other enthusiast cars like the e46 M3, s2000, Lotus Elise, etc.
I only have about 400 miles on the car but am really loving it. While it’s not as raw and visceral compared the GT3, it’s an incredible package that can easily be a daily driver.
Initially, I was surprised (and perhaps a bit disappointed) in how drama free and easy it was to drive compared to the GT3, but I’ve come to quickly realize and appreciate that the compliant ride and smooth clutch/shifter comes at no sacrifice to grip and overall capability. After a few hundred miles, I think the controls are perfectly weighted and the performance is stunning on public roads.
It offers much of the 997.1 GT3 performance on the street but doesn’t beat you up when you run into traffic. It even feels smoother and easier to drive than the 987 cayman.
The GT4 will never match the sound of the GT3’s Metzger engine, the incredible steering feel of the 987, or the charm of the 993, but it’s an incredible car that is nearly perfect in its combination of performance and daily usability. I think of it as a car you can marry, whereas the other cars you want to date, but in the end it doesn’t work out (at least for me).
Plus, everything about the car just feels and sounds right. The attention to detail is evident even in the thin black plastic trim around the air vent where the faux leather grain is a near perfect match with the real leather on the dash. Can’t wait to break the car in!
Shout out to Crazy Eddie, who recommended Mariano (mlgamurot@yahoo.com / 408.476.3332) for the PPF. He literally spent 5 days in my garage covering my car and even came back another day to touch up a couple of areas. He did a great job.
Photo credits go to Nathan Peterson, a super friendly photographer visiting from Canada that I met on my drive down highway 1 the other day.

Thanks, Everyone! Looking forward to seeing you guys on the road! So far, I’ve only seen 1 white one in Mt View and a yellow one on 85 south heading towards Cupertino
Thanks, Suicide Jockey! Nathan was a great guy and emailed me the photos afterwards. He’s a car photographer: http://autoprintz.ca/
GT4SHO, I didn’t get a full wrap, but got the front bumpers, hood, front fenders, side scoops, side rocker panels, a-pillars, and wing. Marianao probably could have done it faster, but took a lot of care and time. I didn’t end up getting a coating. I’ll attach a pic of the areas I got covered.
Thanks, Perimeter. I didn’t end up getting paint correction or a nano coating. The car looked pretty good at delivery.

My only compliant about the car is the key fob. I think the shape is a bit goofy and it's awkward to turn the ignition. Otherwise, everything has met or exceeded my expectations. Actually, I've been slow to get used to the electric parking brake as well.

Love the color choice and congrats. Yeh-for a $100,000 car you would think they would spend a little on the key.
Also - the electric parking brake a PITA to get used to but i actually do like it. if i recall; if your door is open and you try to drive it will engage which is annoying
