Default How "exact" are build dates?

My car has a May Build date. I now stalk this board hourly..... I was curious if cars have been going into production early, on time or late? I know there were some earlier delays w seats being back ordered.

For myself (Aug build) and my friends (Oct, Nov, and Jan) our builds locked 2 weeks early. The builds that were completed moved into production about 4 days early.

Do we have to ask our sa for updates on exact status updates, or is there any other way to track it? With my 1m, I was able to call Bmw hq for exact status updates. Thanks.

My SA told me without my asking when my car went into production, which was a few days ahead of schedule, but I didn't hear from her again until she sent me a few delivery pictures. I was too distracted with other things going on at that time to ask her for ship information, which I had when I ordered my M3, but to be honest I enjoyed this experience more. When I got the email containing delivery pictures it was a fun surprise, whereas with the M3 before I got my delivery notification email I had already spent weeks agonizing over watching a ship's slow progress across the Atlantic, making various stops along the way, and then gotten paranoid over the time spent in the black box of the vehicle prep center ("Could it have been damaged?!?!"), all of which meant that when it eventually arrived, my sentiment was more of an exasperated "Finally!" than a happy occasion as it was with the GT4. Just my 2 cents.

I had a build that was scheduled for 1/8 and I found out it has already started production a week or two ago.

I'm hoping delivery is fast but I still think it will be end of Feb at best.

Hard to know.

My March build has been at freeze point (v210) for a couple of weeks, still hasn't locked (v250) as of last weekend. Seems like everybody has a different story. Who know how it works.

Mine was supposed to be mid Jan build. Got pulled up to early dec. It's already sitting at the port before the original production date.

Bumping this because my build apparently got pushed back 2 months from Late February production to Late April production.

The "actual date" listed for V200 is different from the original printout I received from my dealer when I placed my order, and the update I just got this morning after I asked my dealer yesterday.

Has anyone heard of such a long delay? I know it's completely reasonable for there to be delays, but 2 months?

Originally had a February build and March delivery. Put my spec in immediately and the did not touch it once. Car ended up being built in December and will be here end of this month.

I went in the business day after I received my allocation (got it on 11/1 and went in 11/3) and placed my order and haven't touched it at all. The original said my actual date was 11/3 for V200 and now it says 12/14. Is this normal?

I think build dates are not that exact, but relative to shipping dates, they're good!

There is no such thing as normal when it comes to Porsche and how they do things

Talked with my SA and he said that it is unfortunately a thing that happens on occasion.

He told me that the new "actual date" for V200 was the date when Porsche updated my estimated build timeline, even though I didn't make changes to my order.

Weird how other people in my region seem to be having their builds moved a few days/weeks earlier and I'm having mine delayed by 2 months. Guess that's Porsche for you.

Put my spec in 11/3, original build date was 12/18. Build moved up, locking 11/30 and going v260 on 12/15. Three days isn't much but it did move up.
