Thanks for the link, but thats a terrible list. The only cars I think will be classics on that list are the Viper, GT4 and Mustang 350.

I'm curious to know the % of owners who bought the gt4 in hopes that it will appreciate and become a classic/collector...

Some answers in this poll. I don't know if it's relevant anymore though...

I would never buy a new car thinking it will appreciate. Most of the times it is just dumb-luck unless you are willing to store and collect for many years as most cars go Turbo and catch the trend

i'm not even going to read that link. this whole "top 10 collectible" "top 10 next e30 m3" "top ten cars chris harris would be seen in" etc etc articles are getting old.

This list and the reasoning is just garbage.

I am not discounting our beloved GT4 but even the reasoning behind why they the GT4 will be a future keeper as the last manual is factually incorrect without even mentioning it's NA engine when Porsche is going to turbo.

All N/A sports car will be classics in the future. Just depends on how long you will keep it.

We will probably see the biggest change in automotive history over the next 15 years. Some guys get excited about tesla lunatic mode or whatever it's called. They probably care less about sports cars. So will be happy even in the future. Me. I will keep my dinosaurs for my kids. Hopefully they will be allowed to drive them.

As for in production cars, the R8, Evo FE, Boxster Spyder, Hellcat, should be on top if that list somewhere.

This.

Been thinking about it lately. Pretty much anyone will be able to spank Joe Mechanic who has been building dream hotrod for years in their off-the-shelf electric applian...err...car. Used to be that the quickest cars on the road were created by owners.
