Do you have to reuse the heat shield from the OEM exhaust in the tube section closer to the suspension?

You do not have to reuse the shield on the OEM exhaust. Our system has a bit more clearance than factory, and much better heat retention with our T304L stainless steel.

It is certainly louder than factory, but in a good way! With the valves closed it retains a subtle "daily driver" friendly improvement. Thank you Carl

We are working on developing a video of just the valvetronic system with a few customers who have that setup. As soon as it is available expect to see it posted up on this thread

My exhaust arrived today. Wowzer - it's like unboxing an apple product. The quality of just the packing is excellent.

I'm glad I opened it and looked very closely at the parts and held them in my hand. The craftsmanship is impeccable - pics don't do it justice. Can't wait to hear it.

John - would you recommend putting these on a Spyder or a GT4 if I could only get it for 1 car?

Any dyno for the exhaust only with stock headers?

Well they both have the same drivetrain so I would have the same recommendation of "YES" to both vehicles haha. Personally I would say GT4 because I am a track-oriented guy and appreciate the upgraded suspension and hardtop. However, you'll enjoy the exhaust more on the street with the top down on a Spyder!

No dyno for the stock exhaust alone, but we have graphs on our website of when they were added to our Sport Headers and Race Headers. The results were superb to say the least. It will make a great improvement regardless or factory of Fabspeed headers.

John, as a past and future customer, you know im soon adding the exhaust to my headers.
The fabspeed headers are getting installed this week and I'm going to enjoy that for a short while.. However... All that trapped potential drives me nuts. . The sound from the PSE at high revs in my Spyder is a fantastic howl, my concern is losing that howl by installing an exhaust... Gonna listen to a few more of your videos... All I can say is that even stock the Spyder sounds INSANE. Mini carrera gt comes to mine.

Head shop guy at Porsche dealer during purchase told me that I need to go the whole way.. Intake and exhaust, no point having reduced exhaust back pressure if I don't fix Intake side with the tb and plenum, and consequently ECU. He told me that if tracked, even sport headers will throw a code but that dealers are happy to clear those.. Porsche can tell anyway, he said they can't hide anything from the Porsche engineers now.

In that context, I asked him about warranty preservation and told me about how incredibly detailed Porsche's engineering codes are now.. They can tell ANY changes.. You Change an air filter, they can tell now by air flow differences. He also said that as long as they know the customer, and they know about the mods done, , they will try to "protect" him during warranty claims. However, going just exhaust, or exhaust and headers is still considered less potentially damaging to your claim, than touching the intake side. But that if you mess the exhaust, you should do the intake as well to balance out the flow. Conundrum of sorts.

Was an interesting convo.. But head guy at the shop was a big fan of fabspeed product quality and result.. And that's all the confirmation I needed! I'll be in touch soon for my exhaust John:. Keep up the great work!

Ps: I visited some buddies in SoCal this weekend.. Quite a few fabspeed exhaust parts on their $1M+ cars..
