Default think porsche isn't electronically strangling the gt4?

check out this chart.. I can't think of another instance where a simple ECU change can make this much difference?

30hp or so from midrange all the way up is impressive. we are so close to 911S engine power it's not even funny.

No doubt
If I didnt care about the warranty
I would be all over TB, plenum, exhaust, and flash

Headers certainly a must but still waiting to hear/read more reviews w/ sport exhaust. I am not worried about those 2 mods as I would be if I were flashing ECU ect. The headers and exhaust probably better for the car because it will breathe easier.

talked to John and they are currently working on their "complete package" which includes headers/exhaust/ecu/plenum/tb.. the before and after on that thing is going to be an interesting graph to say the least... now we'll have an engine which despite 981 packaging (Porsche's words) can have all the same parts as a 911S... I'm pretty sure we'll soon find out where ALL of those 50-55 or so horseys were hiding.

The good thing is we know the car can handle it because it is the same engine as the 911S but de-tuned a little. -so no one is "reinventing the wheel' sort to speak and now it is about unlocking it. I think the first step is the headers as you have already done. My car will not be here until June so I have ample time to watch and learn. I already have a budget for my mods and I am not skimping .

430HP at the crank with the X51 pkg is the right number for this car, totally unstressed and as bulletproof as it should've came from the factory.
IMO,of course...

To be honest,I wouldn't take that bet. Knowing Porsche,we will be looking at 15-20 HP more at the most...

I agree that is their usual increment
But this might be different as they are competing with turbos ...
Also this could be the GT 4 RS we are waiting for ???
We will see????

430 HP on a 3000-3100 lbs car pretty stout.

What is this X51 package you are referring to?

That's the thing, nobody knows... If they decide to throw in the 4 cylinder with a couple of turbos,I personally wouldn't be interested, even if it comes with 450 HP...

It's what's called the Powerkit for the 991.1 S. You were able to spec the Powerkit or the X51 pkg to the Carrera S 3.8 L when ordered. That was increasing power from the regular 400 to 430 HP. Different intake and I believe something different with the heads. Anyway,it can be done,no problem. Porsche said it wouldn't fit on the GT4,but it was just marketing BS because they were afraid to get in the GT3 territory with the GT4. They could've easily done it if they wanted to...
