We expect our rotors to last even longer for GT3, due to lighter weight than GT-R.
XT are medium duty track compound. XR is for heavy tracking and full racing application.

If its on the internet it must be true.
Personally I don't care for forum or vendor posts on a different car make. To me that is apples and oranges. Dynamics, etc, have a way to change things no matter how popular those references might be.

RB- XR weren't available yet when I had my GTR... Thus... I never ran it.

P.S.
While my daughter may not be as capable as you think you are she is first in line for this gift.

You now sound like that "donkeykong" character on here or that other character on planet-9 - whatever his name is but both are apparently from your locale, SF and Pelosi country.

How about an allocation! Lol!

that's the rub.
gt4 stock red brakes are already overkill.
is it worth the outlay considering the above? no.
do i like pccb save 20kg of unsprung weight. 5 kg a corner...? yes
do i want to try how many days it takes to oxidise the ceramic coating/ if they will outlast gen 2 significantly? yes.
do i want the kudos of owning 918 sized brakes w/o the battery regen feature? yes.
do i think ptv will kill rear brakes ...? yes.
and if they cook early then.. ST CCM here I come.
simples.
you play you pay... stick with steel , always the safe choice and in this case completely adequate (as you rightly inferred) but for me, too many yes to ignore.

In regards to to PTV, they killed he rear brakes on my friend's 997.2 TTS. His rear always wears out before the front. On the 991Gt3, PTV doesn't kill the rear brakes. My rears look barely worn but my front pads are ready to replacement after 8 track days.

If you overthink it, then go with with steel.
If I'm honest about it, I'm getting the GT3 kit PCCBs because they look incredible on the Cayman and no dust, everything else is secondary as it won't get tracked much. And every time I get in and see those enormous dinner plates it will make me happy.
Plus, the Cayman discount, if it can be called that, of $7K is 20% off of GT3 price for this option.

Just replaced my brakes on my 981S after 28k miles. Fronts were down at 2mm, rears at 6mm. I got PTV and drove a few track sessions and an AutoX season plus several "spirited" road trips in the alps and along the west coast.
I think if you wear your rears faster than the front, you are probably over driving the limit and PSM is working (too) hard. Not the PTV.

It's a new game.
With a GT4 I would go pccb.
The 3rd gen pccb seems already better than the last gen.
Now the GT4 is so light and down on power compared to GT3 with the same brakes that the brake system won't get taxed much.. Never mind compared to the GTR...
Even when they wear out its 4K at Racing Brake to get rebuilt rotors back that are even more durable than oem..
That's less than double the cost of steel and they very well may last twice as long..
I'm considering them for the RS or go steal and add Racing Brakes CCB rotors and see if they last 2x longer than the steals..
Even if a little more you get less unsprung weight, more solid pedal longer, cooler calipers, clean wheels, no ugly rusted rotors and less hassle changing rotors..
And some pretty yellow calipers to go with the sapphire blue
