Default Dirty air filter after 26k miles!

This is what my air filter looked like after only 26k miles. The manual says to replace at 48k. I think I'll be changing them
Every 24k from now on!

Depending on use and where you are, they can get pretty dirty at only 5-10k miles!

That's way too long! Don't follow Porsche's service interval,it sucks! 5-6 K miles at the most for those filters! Here's mine at 5K :

A Hawk flew onto the side of the car last year when on a mountain drive! Brutal! It got sucked into the intake. I was pulling feathers out for days!

It's $187 to replace the filters each time! A bit pricey.

And dont forget to buy the Air Filter removal tool from Sharkwerks for $36.
Makes changing out the filters a breeze. Unfortunately, the tool is on backorder until 9/16/2018

A few thousand more miles and you may have a down pillow on your hands! We've seen that most air filters come out dirty before their maintenance schedule recommendation. We always recommend rechargeable filters, like BMC Filters so that you can just remove, clean, and reoil at regular intervals.

This-I run K&N's on mine as they were already there from the previous owner (otherwise I would have got the BMC's), cleaning and recharging every 6-10k is the way to go!

I know it's not nearly as cool at the Shark Werks tool, but I've always used either one large zip-tie or a couple medium sized put together to remove the filters. Run the zip-ties through the filter's handles, tighten and then pull on the zip-tie itself to remove. Works great. $super-cheap$.
