Default Did install seat angle adjusters / learning curve

the instructions are ok but a few things would have made it a lot quicker took me 2.5 hrs. First thing is don't set the seat to full up before you remove it because the arms will not line up. Set it about half way I had to put the seat back in the car and hook up the power to lower it. It was about 45 min of screwing around till I figured out what was going on. Also the factory arms have nylon inserts the new arms have washers that have to be centered over the shoulder of the bolt while trying to get centered the the seat support a real pain.. Do not remove any wiring other than the main plug while the seat is in the car . Once out its a lot easier to unhook. I measured the difference and with the seat all the way down its 1.75 in. Higher. It sounds like the motor has to work harder because of the new arm being longer is harder to lift. I would be carful of long adjustments that could overheat or burn out the motor. Don't know if it's ever happened . Hope John can advise? I do like the seating position a lot more so I guess that's the main thing. I always thought the seat was too up rite. Glad it worked out Carl! Frame for 918 is even more upright than GT4/3 so can't imagine that being too great for comfort.

Btw, WCLM is in Solveng this year, your neck of the woods?

Putting the stock arms in would take less than a hour because of the inserts.

I did measurements it raises the front of the seat 1.7 " I talked to Gavin the owner last night and gave them a diffrernt washer that doesn't bind . They now are now going to furnish it with the arms. https://rennlist.com/forums/members/...torsports.html

A 14 mm crush washer allows the shoulder of the bolt to seat on the seat rail the plastic washer it to thick and if you tighten it it causes the arm to not rotate as easy as stock . Carl

Stock plastic washer as you can see its to thick and when you tighten it it causes the arm to take more force to. Move still works but I didn't like the increased stress on the seat motor . I did ge t a lot better taking the seat out the second time got it down to an hour from 2.5+ first time carl

So why wouldn't a couple spacers with longer bolts under the front of the seat rails work just as well ?

They may but why? This way you are useing the factory shoulder bolt and you need a close fit in the hole otherwise the seat will have play in it. The 14 mm washer is simple and rotates easy with no play. Once you take it apart you will see there isn't a lot of room on the mounting of the bottom of the arm. Carl

So I just installed these yesterday, install actually wasn't too bad and frankly I consider myself totally not mechanically inclined

Install took maybe 90mins with me being really really careful along the way.

The seating position is definitely better, depending on the angle you set the seat at it reminds me a lot more of an open cockpit seating position. It took me a few hours of driving to re-adjust, but upon second drive this morning I totally dig it. Now I just have to decide to add one to the passenger side or not.

One other thing to note, you don't plop down in the seat nearly as much, the slight lift and angle makes getting in a lot easier.

Personally I think its just easier on the back overall and I always found the foot position pushing the clutch in funky, that angle is now proper as well
