Aftermarket wheels for GT4 with PCCB.

Yes they are indeed different!
While the designs look the same, what differs between the R101 and R101LW is this. The R101 can be custom made to order for any 5-lug or centerlock vehicle and technically speaking if it wasn't for the R101LW it would be our lightest wheel that we offer. For R101LW we hand picked certain makes and models and have made the wheel specific to that particular model by machining out as much weight as possible, bearing in mind the load rating and power level for that specific model.
This photo here isn't of a R101LW set for the GT4, rather a GT3RS, but this photo shows the areas which are machined out more on the R101LW compared to the R101. The pockets on around the centerlock here will be machined out more (same for 5-lug applications), and the sides of the spokes are machined out more. Depending on the R101LW model, the sides of the spoke if you rub your fingers down them like you were cleaning the spoke with a towel, it feels like there's almost no material, it's amazing.

Just different muscle memory.
On loop, some cars without PCCB experienced brake fade. Many think it isn't possible. It was. 996 GT3 comes to mind, while the 996 GT2 w/PCCB didn't. There are others. I can see why the crazy Euros moved to PCCB with some of their mountain passes. Not necessary or desirable for track, but...

Brake fading on mountain passes? I'd rather suggest that people learn to brake properly, this won't even happen with a very basic Cayman brake set up (and I had a 987R which Inreplaced with the GT4 because of brakes not up to track duty....).

Maybe these roads were a bit different than your mountain passes, being more canyon and ridge top, but the fade was noted on that test across a couple of drivers who aren't novices. In fairness, brakes have a tough time on some particular roads we were using, as the cornering speeds are super variable and the brakes rarely get a chance to cool at higher speeds, as they would on a track. Was a non-issue on other roads that week, and have never experienced fade with a GT3/GT2 system on track whether cast-iron or PCCB. I did, however, have a 987-2 Cayman S later...with calipers that turned burgundy at Laguna Seca, so I am with you there.

Your GT4 must be a sensation in Ohio. My wife is from there, along the coast, and we rarely see Porsches around there—much less "exotic" ones.

Pete, I was able to get a piece of 8mm plastic between the caliper and the wheel at the tightest point and still have a bit of wiggle room. Not very precise. There are a lot of Porsches around me in Cincinnati but I don't see them on the road often. Carmine with the gold wheels gets a few comments.
Shockwave, If I get a set I'll be sure to post photos. I tried a set of 19s on my car and it was tight.
