Another option are these: Race Ramp Wheel Cribs. They come in different heights, and even "adjustable" versions.

I liked my first pair so much I bought a second pair. I'm using the 10" version. It's quick and easy to jack the car up enough to slide these under the wheels. Very nice for changing oil or other under-car maintenance. And, they have a larger base than any jackstands I've ever seen, so theoretically more stable than ordinary stands.
