How many track miles with no gear box issues?

This is common, but if you pay attention you will notice this it is likely either that you are just too aggressive and push the shift lever too far left (easy to do on track when you have a million things vying for your attention), or that you are trying to shift when the transmission is under lateral load such as a late shift into 2nd as you turn into a sharp corner. For the most part this "issue" is resolved by shifting a little bit slower and more deliberately into 2nd gear to prevent the "push too far to the left" and/or by moving your 2nd gear shift point a bit earlier in the brake zone to shift while the car is not turning yet and does not have much lateral load.
