well got to go on my first little test drive today with the the regeared trans (with Guard gears), LSD, our light weight flywheel & clutch set up, EVOMSit software & sport headers... Sounds more "gt/exotic" too now. I think the sound overall is tight.

Not going to get too into it (I need to go back and drive more it's calling...) but so far the difference is super-encouraging. It's really starting to feel more and more like a GT car. With the software & headers on there's no more dead spots. in 1st & 2nd gear especially the LWF set up really wakes it the heck up... And then 3rd is a LOT more fun now. As is 4th...

As an added bonus I'd say the slight gear whine (only with windows up) is reminiscent of a low-volume straight-cut gear set up. Makes me smile and gives it more character that's for sure.

Anyone that wants to try it let me know. Not sure when/if I'll return but I'm going on a LONG drive...

Matt/GT Gears seriously you've done some very cool things here.

James is a man of few words but he was impressed.

Dan can jump in since he's tried it too...

Last time I spoke with the dudes at GT Gears, they had two street set ups. Which one are you testing?

I've had 3 cars with GT gears and whine was never really an issue. If you keep 6th stock there is no issue on the highway.

What ratios were changed, and to what new ratio?

I only had a chance to drive the car ~10 miles or so but it's pretty cool so far The 3rd gear really is the Turbo mode like Mooty says... you can shift out of 2nd sooner without worrying about bogging down and you really start cooking at 50+. You don't feel the need to hang onto 2nd so long. The LWF made the engine much more responsive and it's basically silent.

Hopefully I can get some real time in the car soon, as I have only tried it on 3 corners so far

Thanks mate... well sure there's cleaner air back there (did I mention you can see out the back?), mileage went down (you know it's working then) but at the speeds the car was going so far in different scenarios it's felt very stable indeed. Not that it wasn't already. One of the things that I'm super/super keen on is the Guard LSD giving it more confidence and less wiggle. That's the thing I really notice between driving back to back with a stock car vs the obvious power/response stuff.
