BBi Autosport Porsche 981 GT4
StreetCup Weekend Track Car Build
![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7500/27438590752_7f47b51465_h.jpg)
As Porsche Cayman GT4s are currently some of the hottest Porsches on the market now and keeping us very busy, we would like to present this new weekend track car build that we have recently completed here at BBi Autosport. The owner flew down from Seattle to pick up this brand new Agate Grey Metallic GT4 from Newport Beach Porsche dealership and brought it over to us straight from the showroom floor. To make her better suited spirited driving and track duties, we installed our BBi Street Cup Suspension, Harness Bar, and Brembo Brake Upgrades for improved chassis response and braking performance. Once completed, the owner flew back down to take delivery of the car and drove it straight to Laguna Seca Raceway for a PCA Golden Gate Region track event and then cruise back home. Here are some detailed pictures of the build process and upgraded parts that we would like to share below.

To properly install harnesses and increase protection, we installed our BBi 991 GT3 Street Cup Harness Bar coated in Satin Black as the first upgrade. Our bar features 4130 chrome moly steel tubing for excellent strength to weight ratio and addresses issues such as harness angle, seat travel, and engine compartment access. With our sensible design approach, the bar mounts to frame structure in the cabin and rear strut towers to provide the strongest mounting points and maximum protection. For superior strength and rigidity, high strength 4130 chrome moly steel tubing was used throughout and all joints are meticulously TIG welded by hand. Bolt-in installation is accomplished by using Inner Diameter Tube Clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit. These unique joints allow us to eliminate the more traditional slip fit tubes with an unsightly through-bolt and nut. Consistent with our design philosophy, the final result is a bar that is clean & functional.

Looking good! What do you guys think about only cutting along this line instead (so that the cut line is magically hidden from view behind the bar when installed)?

That is a good suggestion but we prefer to make smaller cuts as opposed to a much larger cut. Since the carpet curves around the bar, there is a good chance that the split might be visible.

ShakeNBake,
Thank you for the input. That picture was taken right after we put the some of the interior trim back and we did some adjustment afterwards. Here are a few more pictures.

For improved braking performance, we upgraded the brake fluid and pads. The Brembo Racing HTC 64T High temperature brake fluid provides a very high dry boiling point and the TS20 brake pads combines an aggressive initial bite, good heat resistance all while keeping dust and noise to a minimum.
