I get my car
Last week and I'd love to hear from the non-clearbra folks. I know I'm doing everything forward of the doors/windshield, rockers and just behind the wheels next week.... but I was curious for people "w miles and no bra" how peppered are pillars next to the windshield and the roof behind the windshield? I realize stone chips are a way of life but wanted to hear about nakded prone areas as I'm not doing a full wrap!
On my '12 Cayman R I did not do the A pillars and roof section behind the windshield. I have a lot of chips there. I do regular HPDEs so maybe it's worse than a road only car. Still, I'd recommend covering that area. I added this area on my GT4 as a result of the CR experience. OP, what color is your car? If white the film edge will tend to collect dirt and it shows. Any darker color it's pretty un noticeable.
That's not a fair characterization, though. What if you want to keep the car forever, want to keep it in good shape, and wish to not cringe every time a stone flies at your car? Or worry about a bird taking a crap on it and it baking in the sun on the paint for a couple hours? Or someone lightly scuffing your fascia in the back of a parking lot?
Thanks Zed my car is white. Honestly the biggest reason for the clear bra for me is I live on a farm and have a lakehouse in the country so when I drive home any night it looks like a bug and beetle massacre! I am a firm believer that you get back in resales (because of condition) at least 50 cents on the dollar for the clear bra investment- maybe more.... but i understand why others skip it!

On my 981S, I had the A pillars and a 6-inch section of the roof done, and within a week the edge of the roof protection just barely caught a big stone. Took a gash out of the Xpel, but the roof was fine. Stone chips drive me crazy, so I was thankful I had it on.
