Just finished my first track session at TWS & it was pretty hot & we are only in June. Who has installed a system in their GT4? Do you mount the cooler in the frunk? Any suggestions? Tks?
An alternative is this Techniche Cooling Vest. It uses cooling packs that contain a chemical that freezes at a higher temp than water that fit into the vest. Probably not as good at the systems that circulate cold water through a cooler. But it does not require mounting anything in the car and there are no lines to run. You just keep the vest/packs in the included cooling bag until just before going on track and then put it on. They easily stay cold for 20-30 minutes.
I use it in Formula2000 racing where there is no room to fit a cooler in the car.
If you get the bag version you should be able to secure it in rear trunk, or behind passenger seat. I was going to install mine over the weekend, but misplaced the darn hose. I've used it for 2 years, works great. You need to add ice midway through the day. I recommend getting the Momo shirt instead of coolshirt's shirt. Momo bladder is a better design than the piping in the coolshirt.
Just make sure if you have the bag that the ziploc (seriously, these are essentially constructed with a ziploc) is 100% closed or you will have puddles wherever you set it up.
