The first value is number of occurrences; the second value is the most recent time that range was entered, not the total time spent in that range.

It should. And preclude being CPO approved.

Agree with previous posters report makes no sense. My understanding is that would record level 3 on the way up the level 6, record level 3 (and 4 and 5) while at level 6, then more at level 3 on the way back down. So how can level 3 be around half of level 6?

At least it appears the previous driver of this car got better with time.

Yikes, thats is an ugly DME report.

A while back I warned that many many GT4s would end up with ugly DME reports. I am uber-careful but still got into level 1 over revs (only 1/3 of 1 second's worth) but it still happened. Instructors told me each GT4 they rode in w/ students had at least 1 mis-shift and peg'ed it. Not good.

For most people, I think this would fall under the mantra of "ignorance is bliss".

The number is ignitions, and there are three per engine revolution.
Here's how it logs at each range and how to calculate seconds, although we don't know the exact revolution ranges for 9x1;

That's funny right there.

Thanks for this. I was feeling like the only one in class without the answer key.

Drive it to redline/holding it at red line will produce level 1. Aggressive downshifts can hit 2/3. It's not a big deal.

On the plus side the engine didn't blow.

No, each range is unique and non-overlapping. You can get more rev counts at higher ranges than lower ranges with a money-shift that takes you a second to notice (imagine rev'a fly through the lower ranges and the sit in the upper range until you push in the clutch and correct it).

On the 987:

Range 1, > 7200 and < 7500
Range 2, > 7500 and < 7700
Range 3, > 7700 and < 7900
Range 4, > 7900 and < 8400
Range 5, > 9400 and < 9500
Range 6, > 9500
