For a fun alternative, I would suggest what I call "The Volcano Route" and have led a couple of car club trips on this. Lots of twisties, transitions from lush underbrush to dry high plains with wineries and mountain pass stops along the way.

85 Alfa 8Cs made it to the USA, they are not grey market. One is confirmed as destroyed, so 84 remain.
It is as raw as a car can be but your back will suffer in those gorgeous seats after 4+ hours, although perfect for trips to Chelan wineries
