Congrats and enjoyed reading your initial thoughts. The "cockpit" feel is also something I really enjoy as you lower into the buckets, sunglasses...check, driving gloves...check (yes I really do wear these each time I drive), click on sport and the loud button, disengage parking brake...fire it up!
I also agree that the presence of the car in person versus photos is far superior. Enjoy the car in good health!
BTW just received notification that Hoegh Delhi just arrived at Port of Houston...I still have my marine traffic notifications on as my car was on that ship. I guess I'll just keep tracking it for the life of the ship The foghorn will likely get on my nerves though
great car - hey even if you paid over MSRP you got XPEL, tint, and a helluva long warranty that might make up for some or all of your additional expenditure!
Congrats. I agree the GT4 looks completely different in person than in pics. It is a very aggressive looking car- you are going to love it. I have a hard time thinking of it as a Cayman (very different).
Which looks better, GT3 or 4? I go back and forth, but I think the GT3 gets the nod. For me, the transmission and all the little things make the GT4 a winner.

Thanks! You know, I was finding it a bit annoying to have to toggle those buttons on all the time but you make a good point. It sort of adds to the experience of starting up the car.
I'm actually considering driving gloves too. I hear it helps reduce wear on the alcantara wheel.

Agreed! I also think people get caught up on "over MSRP" as a matter of principal. I certainly did. After all is said and done, I'm very happy with the car at the price I paid (and am grateful of course to be able to do that). On a relative basis compared to what else you can buy on the market for this type of experience, MSRP was arguably undervalued.

Thank you. It's amazing what a few key changes can do to make a good looking car (Cayman) become something you just can't stop looking at.
Congratulations on the beautiful car! I enjoyed reading your post. I too am getting to know my new GT4 and am thrilled with the experience. You mentioned warranty until 2021. Is that a (longer) CPO warranty or are does Porsche warranty them for a longer period? (I believe it's 4 years, 50,000 miles here in the US.)

Thank you! The Porsche CPO warranty, which is 2 years, is additive to the original warranty. So 2015 + 4 years + 2 years.
