so if I open drivers side all the way down and just crack open passenger side.... = no buffeting on stock setup?

I can live with that.

No, that will still have a lot of buffeting, but cracking the other window does help a lot.

In order to get no buffering as stock, both windows need to be at least half way up, and neither window can be fully up.

Odd thing, I bought a set of foils from one of the fellows in the GT3 group, and on my first track day.. forgot to install them.

At TWS, got up to 135 mph or so. At the end of the day, realized that I had not experienced any buffeting - and my son, who was in the car with me, and then on his own, did not feel it either - and I am sure he got to a bit higher speeds, as he's a faster driver.

Cheers
Rich B.

Anyone else in the original group buy waiting on these? Haven't received mine yet.

Thanks. Will try that. Shame drivers side can't be all the way down

I would be concerned that it wouldn't stay in place. Maybe using a 3M double sided sticky tape would be more secure - but whether it's street (highway) or track driving - a piece of anything flying off a car can be a hazard. I would not want anything "scotch taped" to the exterior of my car.

With that said - it's a bit disappointing to read the varying results and conflicting "reviews" on the AWE product that I bought. I look forward to trying it myself (once the car gets here). In the future I likely won't buy accessories in advance unless they are well tested with proven results.

This is a puzzling thread. I was driving for most of today with just the driver's window fully open and experienced no buffeting at any speed (up to ~80) with the AWE Foil. Maybe some here expect the foil to replicate a closed window or confuse buffeting with normal wind from an open window.

Ok, tried it some more. Bottom line to me is this.

Stock, drivers side down only, get pretty significant wind buffeting at moderate speeds and above. To me, completely eliminated with a slight crack of the passenger window.

With the air foiler, it could be that it is a bit better at moderate speeds (40-75 mph) but above that, buffeting is significant and just as bad as stock. It was unbearable on the track again, different day, and also on the street at highway speeds. Solution is again to crack the passenger window. I disagree that the driver window cannot be all the way down. It can be if you crack the passenger window, with OR without the air foiler.

Again, bottom line is I'm not sure it makes a significant difference as I still find myself needing to crack the passenger window. I think the difference above where people didn't notice buffeting is with both windows down at least some. I'm not gonna make a stink with AWE. Just chalk it up to a life lesson.

Well that's a bummer as I haven't even put mine (AWE) on yet
I have my own, home made version on now, and they work very well
