i purchased a setup from proclip a couple weeks ago. thus far, its working well for my iphone 6. here is a pic and part numbers. it wasn't necessarily cheap, but there are discount codes online. it has small extension plate to move it away from the gear shifter

I found that a single piece of duct tape wrapped around the portion of the T-Design mount inserted into the dash gap is both out of sight and provides the extra stability you need. I've had no issues with mine and prefer it to the ProClip I had in my prior CS.

Did you get one? Does it fit the 981 air vents ok? Anyone else with experience with the iOttie?

Looks like they have one that fits into the CD slot also. Anyone with experience on either of these?

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that out. At the price point i just figured it would work out of the box. I guess they never intended it for use with bigger heavier phones like the iPhone 6 plus
