Wasn't sure if should post this because I didn't want cause any undue stress. But if my car was delayed at port (it's currently on a vessel waiting to cross the Panama Canal), one thing I would look into is possible damage during transport. I was part of an BMW ED group with 22 others, and 2 of our cars were damaged during transport from Germany. When we dug deeper, it was actually not unusual for BMWs to get damaged on the ship...it is common enough that BMW has a HUGE facility at port to do bodywork, paint, etc (see link below). And in most cases, BMW doesn't tell you your car was damaged unless it's over a certain dollar amount. But if you ask and are persistent, you can find out.

For what it's worth, according to research I did, Porsche does a better job of transporting their vehicles, but it still involves humans loading cars into tights spaces...tights spaces that move.

But in the end these is nothing you can really do
One thing I know is that they Porsche has a full body shop and can repair anything back to factory standards in SD ... So I guess all you can do is hope and pray ...

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. I just stopped by my SA for an update and she said it's ready for transport. Anyone have an idea what exactly that means?
It may arrive sometime next week!!!
*Edit:
Just searched myself. I believe it's v810: Released for transport.
I guess I just have to wait for it to leave the port!

My incoming GT4 was released for transport Wednesday, and was invoiced this afternoon. It should be at the dealer late today or by Saturday. I'll be looking for delivery Wednesday; the weather may not be good Monday, and the SA is off Tuesday. It seems real but unreal (or surreal) at the same time. I guess it'll be real when I clap my eyes on the beauty. You'd be shocked (or maybe not) at what the dealer wanted to give me for a trade-in...what an insult and colossal waste of time.

If anyone else has a mid-May-to-early-June order...
If anyone else has a mid-May-to-early-June order... Has your SA
told you anything about where your process is? Mine is the strong
silent type. All I know is that a month ago was the last I could change it...

I called the SA again...
"Hi, this is Joseph Weinstein." pause... "I am one of your GT4 waiters", "Oh, yes, I remember you..."
So he was able to look up mine and it shows:
V200 Delivery date determined 02/22/2016
V250 Vehicle fixed 03/01/2016
V260 Vehicle entry to body shop (CP 0.0) 03/25/2016 03/18/2016 03/16/2016
V270 Vehicle exit production (CP 7.8) 04/08/2016 04/01/2016
He says he will be very surprised if it isn't here by the end of May.

My wait is nearly over! Car arrived on Wednesday but work was so busy I could not break away from the hospital to see it in the flesh. My SA intermittently sent me some teaser pics to whet my appetite. Thankfully the dealer got the car over to my paint protection person for Xpel and tint. Still have not had the time to go see it. Car will be ready after work Monday. Can't wait till all you guys get to this point. It's such a great and exciting feeling.

My SA just called and FINALLY MY GT4 has arrived at the dealership!!!!!
Paperwork on Friday, pickup on Saturday! I normally would call out sick and pick it up tomorrow but I'm waiting until Saturday to pick it up so my lady can come with me.
Me too! Haha.
I'm trying to see if I can come up on the 2nd with the GT4 guys but I've called out of sick a few days already for Porsche-related events/reasons haha. This Saturday I'm prob callin in sick so I can enjoy my GT4 all day! Lol
