AGAIN! DO NOT LEAN/PULL/SUPPORT...DO NOT EVEN TOUCH the steering wheel getting in and out! THIS IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO! It's worst than making a hole in the side of your seat from rubbing. You will wear out your steering column and IT WILL DEVELOP A PLAY!!! 100% GUARANTEED!!!!

this method will not create "play" on the column.. It's very little pressure on the steering wheel, if anything, your weight is placed on the door sill.
-Easiest way to get out of LWBS.

I always use the steering wheel in combination with something else to exit a car without unnecessary bolster wear. Never noticed a problem.

How long have you had those cars? It develops in time. Hell,if you'll only keep the car during warranty,go ahead and rev the s**t out of it on a cold engine,do not change the oil, abuse it...whatever. Let it be someone else's problem down the road. If you're planning on keeping a car,you do not touch the steering wheel getting in and out!

If you're comfortable when in the seats, the answer really is simple: lose 15lbs. It's probably a good thing anyway.

I remember seeing a thread for those in the 991 GT3 area. As I recall they were expensive and while they might help protect the bolster, they don't really help ingress/egress.

UPDATE:

I am down 5 lbs and have been working on my form. The seats are a keeper and now I will just say an acquired taste. There was definitely an adjustment period I daily drive this thing and I can say the seats have become that much more enjoyable.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

As a side note, I was able to get the door cane in my red deviated stitching for my wife.

1. Congrat's on the weight loss. I'm not judging, etc. but as someone who lost 58 lbs after the birth of his son, I am a strong proponent of taking better care of his/herself and a big believer in the immediate and long-term benefits of maintaining a healthy body.
2. Super stoked the seats are working out for you. I can not wait to spend more time in mine!

Kids definitely put things in perspective. I hopped on the Keto bandwagon and it so far has been great. Day 5. I last did it to lose 15lbs and it was extremely effective.

And the car... Frickin awesome. I've had some fun ones but the GT4 is by far the most fun. The adjustment from the 991 mpg to the GT4 mpg has been interesting to say the least.
