Default Nice review showing off the Club Sport package

So annoying not to be able to order this as a factory option, ugh...

Great video work in this clip however.

Whats the reason you can't get this package in the US?

Department of Transportation regulations. I can't cite the exact rule but it probably has to do with the exposed metal bar in the cabin if I had to guess.

The structure of the car is changed enough that a whole new crash test certification is probably required as well.

Being in Europe and my order not locked yet I still have the option of getting this. I chose not to get it because I'll go to the track only one or two times a year, so 99% of the time those belts will be a waste and on the road I doubt you get any benefit from the cage. Thoughts?

The belts are easily removed or folded out of the way. With the cage you'll be lugging around another 50kg or so BUT you'll have weld points on the frame for the cage that are impossible to replicated outside of the factory.

If I had the choice of ordering with the package, I would get it without question even if I use it on the track infrequently. Call me a poser but I'd rather have an integrated OEM setup vs. and aftermarket add-on for a special car like this.

Yup. You can remove the OEM bar later but cannot add. I'd still get it for resale. Isn't club sport pack a no cost option?

Note: Offer only in conjunction with the full bucket seats option (order no. P11) with leather/Alcantara seat covering in Black. here's Pete Stout's analysis on the topic from the GT4 launch

Club Sport package weights:
Roll cage including body reinforcements: +44.09 lbs (20.0 kg)
Fire extinguisher including bracket: +7.61 lbs (3.45 kg)
Six point safety harnesses: +5.95 lbs (2.7 kg)
Lightweight bucket seats: +72.75 lbs (33.0 kg)
Total: +130.4 lbs (59.15 kg)

Delete Sports Seats Plus: -114.63 lbs (52.0 kg)
GT4 CS vs standard GT4: +15.77 lbs (7.15 kg)

clubsport adds about 30kg (including passenger harness)

Sorry I don't get where the 30kg comes from / the last line of the calc says 7kg .... RS would have removed the excess with a lighter roof, cf bonnet and Lexan rear window and cf side mirrors

I'm getting my CS next week - can't wait (anyone able to see where the Asian King is? (No Mooty that doesn't refer to you) No update since dec25 on my website - anyone got Bloomberg live handy?

roll cage + fire extinguisher + 2 sets of harnesses =30kg

that's additional weight if you always intended to spec buckets

Worth the wait/weight

Note the slits in carpet for harness- also passenger seat DOES have a slot for harness sun belt to pass thru between legs

Is that the Porsche clubsport option or aftermarket?
